Laycock Photography is a family-run fine art photography studio based at the beautiful Cheethams Mill in Stalybridge, Tameside.

Founded by husband and wife Sam and Elizabeth Laycock, our photography journey has always been about more than simply taking photographs. We believe the people we love, the moments we share and the stories behind our lives deserve to be preserved as something tangible — something that can be enjoyed today and passed down through generations.

Sam has been taking photographs since the age of nine, and over the years that passion has developed into a photography business specialising in fine art family portraits, children's photography, commercial photography, Old Masters-inspired portraits and photographic restoration.

After originally opening our studio in Stockport in 2019, we eventually moved to Stalybridge and found our home in Cheethams Mill. The character of the Victorian mill, its huge windows, beautiful natural light and unique atmosphere make it the perfect setting for the kind of timeless portraits we love creating.

We work with families, children, couples and individuals from across Tameside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and beyond, creating artwork that is designed to live on the walls of their homes rather than disappear into a phone or social media feed.

For us, photography is about connection. It's about capturing personalities, relationships and the little things that make each family unique. Whether we're creating a contemporary family portrait, an elaborate fine art image or carefully restoring a treasured photograph from generations past, we put the same care and attention into every piece.

Being part of the Tameside business community is something we are genuinely proud of. We love working locally, meeting local families and being part of the community around us.
