Opaline Studio Opaline Studio is a boutique boudoir and fine art portrait photography studio based in the historic Cheethams Mill in Stalybridge, Tameside. Founded as a creative, independent studio, Opaline Studio offers a very different approach to traditional photography. We create beautifully crafted, personal portraits that celebrate individuality, confidence and self-expression in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Our sessions are completely personalised, whether someone is looking to celebrate themselves with a boudoir experience, create intimate portraits with a partner, or simply have beautiful artwork created that reflects who they are. Our home at Cheethams Mill is a huge part of the experience. The character of the Victorian mill, its high ceilings, enormous windows and beautiful natural light provide a unique setting for creating timeless, artistic portraits. We are proud to be part of Stalybridge's growing creative community and to operate a local business within one of Tameside's distinctive historic buildings. As a small, family-run creative business, we believe in putting people first. From the initial consultation through to the finished artwork, every client receives a personal experience rather than a one-size-fits-all photography package. We are passionate about creating work that doesn't simply live on a phone or computer, but becomes something tangible to keep and display for years to come. Photography with heart, character and a story to tell. Laycock Photography is a family-run fine art photography studio based at the beautiful Cheethams Mill in Stalybridge, Tameside. Founded by husband and wife Sam and Elizabeth Laycock, our photography journey has always been about more than simply taking photographs. We believe the people we love, the moments we share and the stories behind our lives deserve to be preserved as something tangible — something that can be enjoyed today and passed down through generations. Sam has been taking photographs since the age of nine, and over the years that passion has developed into a photography business specialising in fine art family portraits, children's photography, commercial photography, Old Masters-inspired portraits and photographic restoration. After originally opening our studio in Stockport in 2019, we eventually moved to Stalybridge and found our home in Cheethams Mill. The character of the Victorian mill, its huge windows, beautiful natural light and unique atmosphere make it the perfect setting for the kind of timeless portraits we love creating. We work with families, children, couples and individuals from across Tameside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and beyond, creating artwork that is designed to live on the walls of their homes rather than disappear into a phone or social media feed. For us, photography is about connection. It's about capturing personalities, relationships and the little things that make each family unique. Whether we're creating a contemporary family portrait, an elaborate fine art image or carefully restoring a treasured photograph from generations past, we put the same care and attention into every piece.
